Club Affiliation for the 2008-2009 Season Now Open

Club Affiliation Forms can now be downloaded from the Basketball Scotland website for season 2008/09. All SLBA clubs are reminded that affiliation is manditory if they wish to compete in SLBA competitions.

Please ensure all Clubs send the result of each match to the Results Officer (Stuart Holland) immediately after the game either via text or email to: results@slba.org.uk

Fixtures Meeting & League Structure: Current Status

Fixtures Meeting set for Thursday 11 September 6.30pm at Rosshall Academy, Glasgow. As per SLBA regulations: "Attendance at the Fixtures Meeting is mandatory for each Club."

Please note that with the proposed removal of the nominated 6 rule (see notes on Ex Ord AGM that will be coming your way) in favour of full team lists with no crossovers I would ask all team secretary’s to carefully consider your 2^nd and 3^rd team entries. If anyone knows of any changes / additions / withdrawals from the leagues please let the League Secretary know as soon as possible.

Officiating

Register your interest for training courses - there is a new online register for all those wishing to attend Floor and/or Table Officials courses. The register can be found here: http://slba.org.uk/officials/ along with further details for each course. It is hoped to hold several courses over the summer in and around the Glasgow area but we need participants and this can only come from member clubs! Please pass this information around your Club members and encourage everyone to register and take part in one of the courses.

Administration

Most of the communications (newsletters etc.) will be sent via the SLBA Contacts Email list. If your Club requires extra names on this email list please send a blank email from the email address you wish added, to contacts-subscribe@slba.org.uk. You will receive a confirmation message to indicate you have been added to the mailing list.

Extraordinary AGM – SLBA

As per item 7 of the SLBA constitution an Extraordinary General Meeting has been called for Thursday 11^th September 2008 at Rosshall Academy, Glasgow starting at 6.15pm and closing at 6.30pm. Details of the proposed rule amendment have been sent to all Clubs.
